Q - Do I receive my rental the day I move-in? And do I get to keep it until the day I move-out?
A - Unfortunately, on most campuses, we deliver after move-in, and recover, prior to move-out. While we make every effort to ensure the maximum use, logistically, we are unable to accommodate student's individual schedules.
Q - Do I have to be present to take delivery of my rental?
A - Yes . At campuses where delivery is made to a central pick-up location, then someone, preferably the student, must be there to take delivery. If he or she is unavailable, they can appoint, a friend or a roommate, to take delivery so long as they provide ID and a written note from the student. On campuses where we offer room delivery, students are not required to be present.
Q - What if I miss my delivery/return?
A - No-shows are automatically cycled into the next delivery/return. You should receive a call from our office advising you of your status and when we will next be on campus. You should nothat if you miss the delivery date there will be a charge of $45.00 add to your credit card
Q - What if my refrigerator stops working?
A - Rentals are guaranteed for the term of the rental. Simply call our office andcustomer services will take it from there. Most times we are able to replace defective units within 4 - 6 business days.
Q - What about lost food or perishables?
A - The company does not reimburse students for lost food items due to mechanical failure. Many units can run for 20 years or more without any problem. So while we are genuinely sorry for lost purchases, we cannot be responsible for manufacturing defects.
Q - What if I want to cancel my order?
A - All orders are automatically uploaded to our secure merchant processor which incurs a $3.00 credit processing fee. If you cancel your order BEFORE it has been shipped, you will be assessed a $25.00 cancellation fee. If you cancel your order AFTER it has been shipped, you will be charged an additional $25.00 cancellation fee. Orders which are refused at delivery will be assessed all of the applicable fees listed above - including incurred shipping fees. The Credit card processing fee of $3.00 will NOT be refunded. Unfortunately we are not able to make any exceptions.
Q - How much of a refund do I get if I cancel my rental after delivery.
A - If a rental is returned within (2) calendar days, students receive a full refund less a $75 cancellation fee. Thereafter, students are entitled to a partial refund depending on the length of the rental remaining. The additional $25.00 security deposit is also refunded provided the rental is returned in satisfactory condition.
Below is a listing of general features of the appliances we rent. While student's need to make their own determination, we hope you will find this helpful. Keep in mind that dimensions and cubic footage vary somewhat as there are different brands and models within each of the categories.
LARGE: Very popular . Lots of refrigerated storage space. Keep in mind that the freezer compartment will freeze many perishables, but will not freeze ice cream or other deep freeze perishables. Also, note that the freezer compartment is designed to accommodate 2 standard ice cube trays, so space is limited. Overall dimensions are 19" wide 20" deep and 32" high. Cubic footage is 4.0 - 4.5 cubic feet.
SMALL: Also, known as a "CUBE" for its box like shape. Most appropriate for (1) student. Overall dimensions are 19" deep 20" wide and 20" high. Cubic footage is 1.7 cubic feet.
HOT/COLD; COOK N' COOL; MICROFRIDGE: While the brand names are different, the units themselves are very similar. Each offer approximately 2.0 cubic feet of refrigerated storage space and 1.0 cubic feet of freezer space. Most of the microwaves are digital and are .6 cubic feet. Overall dimensions are approximately 19" wide 20" deep 42" high. The freezer is a real plus because of its size and its ability to operate at between 0 - 8 degrees. Very compact, and especially popular on campuses where microwaves are not permitted.
